In a media briefing that was held on Friday by the leadership of the party, including Zuma, Nathi Nhleko, Magasela Mzobe to mention the few, the party said that Zuma-Sambudla resigned voluntarily.
“First and foremost, members of the media need to familiarize themselves with the statement which is in public domain which was made by Zuma-Sambudla. As the organization Umkhonto Wesizwe Party, we are not involved or we were never involved in the recruitment of the young South Afrucans to join the Ukraine-Russia war,” said Nhleko who is the Chairperson of the MKP.
Nhleko refused to reveal the numbers of the men, their names, and surnames of the men who said to be abroad.
“The matter is difficult for all the parties involved including the families and the South African public at large. We request that Zuma-Sambudla be given time to work with the relevant authorities in bringing the 17 men back to the country.
