Police have arrested a 38-year-old man suspected of killing two women in Mamelodi and attempting to murder a third.
The two women’s bodies were discovered on Sunday along a roadside in Mahube Valley, Mamelodi East. A third woman, who was also shot during the attack, survived and is currently being treated in hospital.
According to police, the suspect was arrested on Monday at a petrol station in Pretoria. The operation was carried out by a joint team of detectives from the serious and violent crimes unit, provincial crime intelligence, and Mamelodi East police.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Mamelodi Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, facing two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
