TikTok star Amadou “Jarvis” Aminata has explained why her wedding to fellow content creator Habeeb “Peller” Hamzat has not yet taken place, despite their engagement.
Peller proposed to Jarvis in December 2024, and in July 2025 she confirmed the engagement during a TV interview. At the time, the 23-year-old expressed confidence in their relationship, saying she had grown to understand him better.
However, during a recent TikTok live session, Jarvis revealed that their age difference and Peller’s current life circumstances were factors in delaying the marriage.
“I’m old enough to get married, but his age is slowing me down,” she said. “If he were older, we’d probably be married already. One day, he could change his mind and say I’m too old for him. I don’t want to pressure him into marriage so young. He needs time to experience life and learn.”
She also expressed concerns about financial stability:
“I plan to marry in about three years, but right now I have goals for myself. Peller’s income has not been steady, and I don’t want to be caged by marriage too soon.”
Peller, on the other hand, denied that age was the obstacle. He suggested that interference from Jarvis’ parents was his main concern, saying they could decide at any time to take her away from Lagos.
The couple previously faced public scrutiny after a viral video showed Peller pushing Jarvis at a concert. Jarvis later clarified that he did not abuse her, stressing that if he had, their relationship would have ended. Peller also defended himself, explaining that the clip was taken out of context and that he was trying to protect her from aggressive fans who had approached them.
