Three men were shot dead in Mamelodi East, Tshwane, during a gun battle with the Hawks.
Authorities say they were acting on a tip-off about an armed gang believed to be in possession of illegal firearms. When officers moved in, the suspects allegedly opened fire.
Police returned fire, killing three suspects on the scene, while a fourth managed to escape.
