The National Convention has come under fire for what critics describe as hasty organisation and questionable government involvement.
Political analyst Ntsikelelo Breakfast raised concerns about the government’s motives behind the National Dialogue, saying the process appeared rushed and lacked transparency.
The event has also faced backlash over its high cost, with several prominent legacy foundations pulling out in protest. Among them are the Thabo Mbeki Foundation, the Steve Biko Foundation, and the Desmond Tutu and Leah Tutu Foundation.
These organisations cited issues of government control and poor planning as key reasons for their withdrawal, casting doubt on the credibility of the dialogue.
