The search continues for Jerry Boshoga, a 45-year-old businessman from Silver Lakes, Pretoria, who was kidnapped in Rooihuiskraal, Centurion, in November last year. Despite rumors circulating online, authorities have confirmed that he has not been found and investigations remain ongoing.
Boshoga’s abduction shocked the community, especially after his family received a chilling WhatsApp message from an unknown number. The message included a voice note from Jerry himself, stating simply and frighteningly: “I’ve been kidnapped.” In the days that followed, his family also received disturbing videos appearing to show him being tortured, along with a demand for a R10 million ransom.
His family and loved ones have been left reeling, and the emotional toll has been immense. His brother, unable to reach him after he left for what was supposed to be a routine meeting, grew increasingly concerned before the first signs of the kidnapping emerged.
Police have urged the public to avoid spreading unverified claims, particularly on social media, emphasizing that such misinformation causes unnecessary distress to the family—especially his mother, wife, and children—who are already enduring immense anxiety.
Authorities have reiterated that the case is at a delicate stage and any verified updates will be communicated directly to the family first.
For now, the search for Jerry Boshoga continues, as his loved ones hold on to hope for his safe return.
