Two foreign nationals are expected to appear in court today following a major drug bust in Cape Town.
Their arrest took place on Sunday at a residence in one of the city’s suburbs, where law enforcement officials uncovered a staggering 145 kilograms of tik and 16 kilograms of heroin. The total street value of the seized drugs is estimated at around R54 million.
The suspects, originally from Burundi and Tanzania, are facing charges related to drug trafficking. Authorities say the arrest was made after receiving a tip-off, which led to the targeted operation.
Their court appearance is scheduled for today at the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court.
