Police remain committed in the fight against drugs. A team comprising of the Welkom Anti-Gang Unit, Crime Intelligence, and Bultfontein SAPS arrested four suspects aged between 23 and 30 during an intelligence driven operation at Phahameng, Bultfontein.
It is alleged that on Friday, 4 July 2025, members received and followed information of houses where drugs are being sold. Information led to the arrest of a 23-year-old african male who was allegedly found in possession of drugs. Police confiscated five (05) sachets of CAT drugs and six(6) sachets of crystal meth.

Further investigation led members to a house where the 23-year-old suspect was found in possession nineteen (19) packets of CAT drugs, twelve (12) packets of crystal meth and money to the amount of R1320-00. The male suspect was arrested for dealing and possession of drugs. Police confiscated property found in possession of the suspect.
Police continued with the operation and subsequently arrested a 29-year-old female and a 30-year-old male for dealing and possession of drugs. Police confiscated four(4) packets of CAT drugs, nine (9) packets of crystal meth, three (3) halves, and six(6) quarters of mandrax tablets and cash to the amount of R211-00.
The four suspects aged between 23 and 30 will appear before the Bultfontein Magistrate’s court on Monday, 7 July 2025.
