The police in Thaba Nchu request assistance from the public with information that might help in solving a murder crime that happened in Tabale Trust in Mangaung Metro. On Saturday 17 May 2025 the police received a distress call from cow herders who came across a lifeless body of a grown-up male lying next to a light duty pick-up truck stuck in the mud on an open grazing veld. The police rushed to the scene and were welcomed by the Emergency Service Personnel who had already declared the victim dead.
It was evident from preliminary investigation that the deceased was trying to flee from his attacker(s), the police initiated a search in the area that led to the discovery of the primary scene of crime. Several 9mm spent cartridges were found where the pick-up truck had initially stopped and different shoe prints sets were observed on both sides of the deceased’s vehicle tracks. The police identified the 72 year old victim and informed his next-of-kin. The deceased suffered two gunshot wounds; one on the chest and another on his face.
