On 15 May 2025, a multi-disciplinary operation in Pretoria West led to the arrest of 12 undocumented foreign nationals, fines for two business owners, and the closure of four warehouses.

Authorities seized large quantities of expired and illicit goods. The operation, involving SAPS and several government departments, is part of ongoing efforts to combat foodborne illness and illicit trade in South Africa.
