Miss Teen SA shines on global stage, reaches top 6 at Miss Teen Universe 2025
Khanyisile Mahlangu, reigning Miss Teen South Africa, proudly represented the nation at the Miss Teen Universe 2025 pageant, earning a coveted spot among the Top 6 finalists.
The prestigious event took place in Punta Cana, where she stood out as the only African contestant to advance to the finals.
Mahlangu competed alongside representatives from Canada, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, and host country Dominican Republic. Her standout performance came during the cultural showcase, where she paid homage to South African heritage in a striking ensemble: a feather-trimmed two-piece brown outfit, complemented by copper bracelets, a bold beaded necklace, and a towering traditional headpiece.
She impressed both judges and audiences by skillfully demonstrating the use of a calabash on the runway a cultural symbol deeply rooted in indigenous South African traditions.
Public voting played a key role in the final outcome of the competition, with global supporters urged to cast their votes up until the final moments.
South Africans rallied behind Mahlangu, flooding social media with messages of support and national pride.
While the final results of the pageant had yet to be confirmed at the time of reporting, Mahlangu’s journey to the Top 6 has already made her a standout symbol of grace, cultural pride, and youthful ambition. Her performance not only elevated South Africa on an international stage but also spotlighted the richness of Mzansi’s traditions among a global audience.
Pageant enthusiasts are now awaiting the official announcement of the winner, while Mahlangu continues to inspire as a proud ambassador of South African youth and identity.
