Joint security forces in Katsina State (Nigeria )have eliminated five suspected bandits and arrested three alleged informants during coordinated operations in Dandume and Danmusa local government areas.
The operations, carried out by the police, military, state security, community watch corps, and local vigilantes, also led to the recovery of seven motorcycles believed to be used by the bandits for criminal activities.
On April 10, at about 4:15 am, officers ambushed the suspects along a known bandit route near Dutsen Wori village in Dandume. Five suspects were killed, and the recovered motorcycles included four Hondas and three Boxers.

Later that same morning, around 7:00 am, another operation was launched in Danmusa following intelligence reports of bandit activity in Unguwar Adam and Unguwar Judo villages. Security personnel stormed the area, dislodged the hideout, and apprehended three individuals accused of supplying information and logistics to the bandits. Two motorcycles and two bicycles were seized.
Efforts are ongoing to track down those who escaped.
The state’s police commissioner praised the coordination, professionalism, and commitment shown by the security forces and reaffirmed their dedication to eradicating banditry and protecting the lives of citizens.
