ODENDAALSRUS – Intelligence driven information led to the arrest of an alleged drug dealer on Saturday, 5 April 2025 in K4 Section, Kutlwanong. Members attached to the Welkom Anti-Gang Unit received and traced information about a suspect who was reported to be selling drugs in K4 Section, Kutlwanong. On arrival, members spotted two African males exchanging small plastics. They approached the suspects. One suspect managed to flee while the other suspect was apprehended after he ran into a nearby house. He was found in possession of money and 42 small plastic wraps suspected to be drugs. Members seized 8 grams suspected to be nyaope drugs wrapped in small plastics with an estimated street value of R1500 and cash. The 21-year-old suspect was subsequently arrested for dealing and possession of drugs. He will appear in the Odendaalsrus Magistrate’s Court soon. Ends
