Woman arrested with mandrax worth R1 million in Cape Flats drug bust
A 46-year-old woman was arrested in Site B, Khayelitsha, on the Cape Flats after police confiscated Mandrax tablets worth an estimated R1 million.
The arrest followed a targeted operation by the Khayelitsha SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, which involved stop-and-search activities.
Officers stopped the woman and found her carrying a large green bag, which, upon inspection, contained 10 large packets, each holding 1,000 Mandrax tablets, along with four smaller packets containing 100 tablets each.
The woman is set to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court on April 7, 2025, where she will face charges of drug possession.
