POLOKWANE – Police in Modimolle under the Stock Theft and Endangered Species Unit (STES) have initiated a manhunt for five suspects following the recovery of three suspected stolen cattle during an auction at Northam on 28 March 2025 at about 10:00. The auctioneer and a security officer at the Northam auction saw suspicious cattle during the auction proceedings. The police were promptly alerted about the matter. Upon arriving at the scene, preliminary investigations were conducted, confirming that the cattle had been stolen between Mookgophong and Modimolle area. The owner of the abandoned vehicle, which was found along the road between Thabazimbi and Northam was traced and arrested. We urge anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of additional five suspects to contact the Investigating Officer, Warrant Officer Rossouw at 071 133 8524 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
