Dineo Ranaka makes a comeback to Metro FM after Kaya 959 stint and personal struggles
Dineo Ranaka is making her return to Metro FM after a brief departure in 2022, during which she joined Kaya 959. The popular radio personality is set to host The Saturday Top 30 show as part of Metro FM’s 2025/26 lineup. Her return follows her exit from Kaya 959, where she faced personal challenges, including a public struggle with chronic depression, ultimately leading to her dismissal in 2023.
Ranaka has been open about the mental health toll the radio industry took on her, even describing it as an abusive environment that left her physically ill. Despite these challenges, she has expressed feeling as though she is “coming back home” to Metro FM. Ranaka clarified that she was never fired from the station and holds no ill will.
