Media Statement POLOKWANE – The weekly high-density Operation Kukula (Shanela), conducted from Monday, 17 March 2025, until Sunday, 23 March 2025, across Limpopo has led to the arrest of seven hundred and eighty nine(789) suspects for a range of serious offenses, including murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, rape, carjacking, possession of unlicensed firearms, and contravention of the Immigration Act. The operation was a collaborative effort involving strategic partners, including the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), Traffic Police, the Community Police Forum (CPF) and Private Security. Law enforcement teams executed the operation through high-visibility patrols, vehicle checkpoints, stop-and-search activities, tracing of wanted suspects, and compliance inspections of scrap yards and liquor outlets. The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has commended the collaborative approach and dedicated efforts of all stakeholders involved.
