Media Statement DURBAN – On Friday, 14 March 2025 the Ntuzuma Regional Court sentenced Sipho Zwide Nxumalo (49), Bonginkosi Mfanafuthi Qwabe (34) and Bhenkinkosi Simphiwe Manyanga (34) to 26 years direct imprisonment after the court found them guilty of kidnapping and murder. The three accused were sentenced to 18 years for murder and eight years for kidnapping. Both sentences will run concurrently. On 17 November 2022, Minenhle Charles Khumalo’s(23) lifeless body was found by KwaMashu police at Kholwa Road in the hostel with severe injuries after he was allegedly chased by the accused. He was taken to hospital for medical attention but later succumbed to his injuries. Following an intensive investigation conducted, the suspects were swiftly arrested. They made several court appearances before they were convicted and sentenced. Ends
