Media Statement GAUTENG – Zenco Van Wyk (27) has been sentenced by the Kempton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 11 March 2025 for contravening Section 13 (b) of the Drug Trafficking Act, Act 140 of 1992. On 03 August 2022, Border Management Authorities (BMA) at OR Tambo International Airport intercepted the accused who had just landed in South Africa from Brazil. Upon searching Van Wyk’s bag, half a kilogram of cocaine with an estimated value of R1.5 million was found and seized by authorities which led to his subsequent arrest. On 15 January 2025, the Kempton Magistrates’ Court found the accused guilty of contravening Section 13 (b) of the Drug Trafficking Act, Act 140 of 1992 and sentenced to (06) years direct imprisonment.
