KIMBERLEY – The Provincial Joint Operational and Intelligence structure (PROVJOINTS), which consists of various departments and law enforcement agencies in the Northern Cape, is ready and geared to police the State of the Province Address that will be delivered by the Premier of the Northern Cape, Dr Zamani Saul on Thursday, 06 March 2025 at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre in Kimberley. The PROVJOINTS’s Security Committee, under the leadership of the SAPS, has been engaged in the meticulous planning prior to the event, to ensure that all the necessary security arrangements are in place. This includes the security at all venues, critical key points and areas in and around Kimberley, to ensure the safety of all high profile dignitaries, invited guests and the community who will be in attendance. Contingency plans are in place to react to any eventuality that may occur prior, during and after the SOPA. A stern warning is issued to any criminal element who intend taking advantage of this event, to refrain from such criminal activity, as their actions will be met with the full might of the law and the authority of the state will be stamped down during this period and beyond. There will however, also be minor disruptions in the flow of traffic in the vicinity of the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre in West Circular Road where the event will be hosted. The effected roads that will be closed on Thursday, 06 March 2025 from 10:00 until 11:00 will include West Circular, South Circular, Green Street and St Augustine road. Motorists and the general public are advised to be patient and obey instructions from law enforcement officials posted in the area and to utilize alternative routes. Ends
