Media Statement POLOKWANE – The members of the Provincial Organised Crime jointly with Crime Intelligence Unit have seized drugs worth more than eight thousand rands and cash during an operation focusing on dealing with drugs conducted at Phalaborwa policing area on Wednesday, 26 February 2025. The operation yielded positive results that led to the arrest of a 38-year-old foreign national who was found standing next to a bank at Palm Street, Phalaborwa town. The suspect was searched and found in possession of Crystal Meth drugs with an estimated street value of R4 600-00 and cocaine drugs valued at R3 600-00 including an undisclosed amount of cash believed to have been generated from selling the drugs. The suspect was asked about the origin of the drugs but failed to provide a satisfactory response and was immediately apprehended on the spot. The 38-year-old foreign national is expected to appear before the Phalaborwa Magistrate’s court soon facing a charge of dealing in drugs. Police investigations are continuing. Ends
