MOTHIBISTAD – On 27 February 2025, members of Mothibistad SAPS members followed up on information about a certain house in Magojaneng where livestock was allegedly being kept. The information was operationalised by Vispol Commander, Captain Nomvuyo Makoloi, the Detective Commander, Captain Sethunya Letshwiti with Vispol members . The suspect was identified and the vehicle believed to be transporting the livestock was also confirmed. Upon arrival at the identified premises, the information was confirmed that the three males driving the Isuzu Bakkie left and were driving towards Seodin with one sheep. Warrant Officer Obakeng Mecwi of the Kuruman Stock Theft and Endangered Species unit and his team were activated and they managed to track the Bakkie in Bankhara Bodulong with evidence that sheep was kept inside. The three males were questioned and then taken to the address of one of them. On arrival at the house in Magojaneng, the police discovered seven sheep that were tied with wire inside the house. The owner failed to give an explanation or proof of ownership of the livestock. Subsequently three males aged 60, 37 and 38 were arrested for possession of suspected stolen livestock. The suspects are expected to appear in the Mothibistad Magistrate’s Court soon. Ends
