FREE STATE – Operation Vala Umgodi Combat team received intelligence and operationalised it in Phuthaditjhaba, Qwaqwa. Operators conducted a lookout and after verification, the identified target house in Pitso Street was searched. During the search, five cellphones, bank and shopping cards, identification cards, a driver’s license, and fifty 9mm calibre live ammunition rounds were discovered, along with a Black RETAY blank gun loaded with eleven blank gun cartridges and an appointment card. Three suspects aged 36, 51 and 52 were arrested for illegal possession of ammunition and appointment card not belonging to any of them. A case docket of unlicensed possession of ammunition and impersonating a police official was opened at Phuthaditjhaba police station. n Virginia, the Proactive team stopped and searched an African male on Gold Acre Street as part of disruptive actions. Twenty-seven zip-lock plastics containing crystal meth were discovered in the possession of the 46-year-old man. The packets, which are sold on the street for R50.00 each, were confiscated, and a case of drug dealing complaint was opened at Virginia police station. A White Toyota Legend 50, which was reported stolen at Brooklyn police station in Limpopo Province, was recovered by Operation Vala Umgodi team in Ratlali Street, Meloding near Virginia. The team worked with vehicle tracking company and discovered that the VIN [identifying code for automobile also known as car’s fingerprints] was tampered with and altered. All suspects will appear before court soon.
