Media Statement EASTERN CAPE – A 39-year-old male suspect has been arrested in Buffalo Flats, East London, after police discovered drugs valued at approximately R80,000 during an operation led by the East London Tracing Team. The police received information about a suspected stolen vehicle seen driving around Buffalo Flats. Members tracked the vehicle to Parkside, where they managed to stop it. Upon checking the vehicle’s details, it was confirmed to be stolen, linked to a case in Walmer, Gqeberha. A search of the vehicle uncovered a packet of mandrax tablets, a sealed box containing an undisclosed amount of cash, and two empty firearm magazines. Further investigations led police to the suspect’s residence, where they discovered 907 mandrax tablets, two bags of tik weighing 280 grams, and an additional amount of cash. The suspect was immediately arrested and is facing charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of drugs and magazines He is expected to appear before the East London Magistrate’s Court soon.
