Media Statement EASTERN CAPE – It is alleged that on 05 November 2024 at about 19h25 information was received at Cala police station about the body of a male believed to be in his 30’s recovered at lower Cala Mountain. The body is reported to have been dressed in navy jeans tied with a black belt. The deceased is further reported to have woven woolen bangles on both wrists. It is said that there was a black boot next to his body. In another incident on 25 November 2024, information was once again allegedly received about a body of a female also in her 30’s seen at Tsomo River, Cala. She is reported to have been dressed in grey pants and long sleeved brownish shirt. It is alleged that both bodies were already decomposed and could not be recognisable. Inquest dockets have been opened for both cases. Any person who might be having a missing male relative around Cala during the said period suiting the description of the attire and age should contact Constable Lerato Mothoa on 047 377 0619. Anyone who might also be having a missing female relative suiting the description of the deceased attire and age must immediately contact Constable Mahlatse Mothapo on 076 642 8132 or alternatively contact Captain Andiswa Msotyana on 083 312 2334. Next of kin to the deceased are needed for identification purposes as both bodies are at a State Mortuary. This will also help in expediting the investigations. Ends
