Media Statement GQEBERHA – SAPS Kariega detectives are seeking the next of kin after they found a body of an unknown man that was electrocuted in the early hours of Saturday 22 February 2025, in Kariega. It is reported that at approximately 00:05, SAPS Kariega attended to a complaint in Algoa Road, Swartkops Bridge, Kariega of an electrocution. On arrival, they found the unknown-coloured man who was electrocuted and passed away. It is further alleged that the man attempted to steal copper cables. The members also confiscated a hacksaw, knife, and a backpack. The deceased is aged between 25 and 30 years and was dressed in blue pants and a dark blue jacket.
