Media Statement LIMPOPO – The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, hailed the industrious work carried out by the Mopani Tracking Team members working jointly with Seshego police, following the fatal shooting of the most-wanted suspect who had been on the run. The suspect was facing at least 17 cases and was found at a hideout place at Ga- Komape village in Moletji outside Seshego. On Tuesday, 11 February 2025, in the afternoon, members of Mopani District Highway Patrol, Mopani Tracking Team joined by Seshego police and other SAPS units, conducted an intelligence-led operation at Molejie Ga-Moeti village, in Seshego policing area Capricorn District tracing a wanted suspect involved in a series of serious and violent crimes reported in the Hlanganani policing area, between 2022 and 2025. During the operation, on arrival of the team at the identified address, team members acted swiftly, and the suspect came out from one room, firing gunshots towards the police, whereby they retaliated, and the suspect, aged 36, was fatally shot. Police have opened a case of inquest at Seshego police station for further investigations. The firearm and motor vehicle, which were being used by the suspect, were confiscated. The suspect will be linked with the following cases around Hlanganani policing area, three cases of murder, four cases of attempted murder, carjacking, eight cases of business robbery, and malicious damage to property.
