WESTERN CAPE – The strategic deployment of various police units to curb the influx of drugs, illicit products and stolen goods into the province yielded excellent results with the confiscation of drugs with an estimated street value of R1 million at Prince Albert in the Central Karoo. A 29 year old man arrested in connection with the find is expected to appear in court on Monday, 10 February 2025 on a charge of dealing in drugs. On Friday, 07 February 2025 at about 06:45, Central Karoo Flying Squad members conducted a vehicle check point along Prince Albert Road at Prince Albert. The members pulled over a passenger bus and proceeded with a thorough search of the trailer leading to the discovery of four travel bags stashed with dagga. Investigation on site positively linked the dagga to a passenger on board. Police confiscated 22 bales weighing 128,90 kilogram and arrested the man. Detectives attached to the Western Cape Provincial Organised Crime Investigations (Narcotics) are investigation this matter. The suspect remains in police custody.
