FREE STATE – The Kroonstad Highway Patrol has arrested three suspects aged between 40 and 47 for possession of suspected stolen livestock. On Saturday, 08 February 2025, at about 06:15, the Kroonstad Highway Patrol members were conducting a stop-and-search operation on the N1 North, 5 km from Kroonstad and they stopped an Isuzu bakkie with a trailer containing four cattle. The members requested documentation for the livestock, and the three suspects could not produce any, and further investigation revealed that the cattle were suspected to be stolen from a farm in Steynsrus. The three suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen livestock.
The trio is expected to appear before the Kroonstad Magistrate Court soon.
