WESTERN CAPE – An intelligence driven operation between Crime Intelligence, Wellington SAPS and local security companies led to the arrests of suspects for the illegal possession of firearms and housebreaking in Paarl East on Wednesday. The operation followed after a housebreaking case which was reported in Wellington where firearms were stolen on Wednesday, 29 January 2025. The vehicle used in the commission of the crime and the suspects were identified and the premises was searched. Three rifles with ammunition, a 9mm pistol and a .38 Special revolver with ammunition were found in the house. Two males aged 32 and 40 and three females aged 20,31 and 50 were arrested for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and housebreaking. The suspects will appear in the Paarl Magistrates’ court once they have been charged. Ends
