edia Statement MAKWANE – A man suspected of killing his girlfriend, a 37-year-old woman from the Lusaka Section, Makwane Village, Qwaqwa, has been apprehended by the Makwane Detective. She was allegedly dumped close to a reservoir after he carried her body into a wheelbarrow. On 19 January 2025, the police received disturbing evidence from a community member of a body of the woman dumped near the reservoir of the Lusaka section of Makwane Village, Qwaqwa. Upon police arrival, members have found the decomposed body of a woman. The deceased’s brother identified her as Tshepiso Juliet Mokoena (35), his sister. She was in a state of decomposition. the deceased was last seen by her family on 11 January 2025. She wasn’t reported missing at the local police station. She was last seen with her boyfriend, known to the family, on 11 January 2025. The suspect was traced and arrested. The motive behind the murder is not yet known. A case of murder is being investigated. The suspect is expected to appear before the Makwane Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 22 January 2025, facing a charge of murder.
