Mother of a newborn baby sought

FREE STATE – The police are appealing to the public to help find the mother of a newborn baby who was found on 25 September 2024 near Flamingo Lake on the R30 road.

The baby was covered with a pink top and a maroon cloth. The gender could not be confirmed as the body was already in an advanced state of decomposing. The police opened a concealment of birth case and the investigation continues.

Should anyone have information about the whereabouts of the mother, please contact Detective Warrant Officer Tshediso Nthaba of the Welkom Detective Services on 083 525 3771 or alternatively the Crime Stop Number 08600 10111. They can also drop an anonymous tip on the MySAPS App.
