Malamulele SAPS re-arrested an awaiting trial prisoner

POLOKWANE – The members of Malamulele SAPS in Vhembe district have re-arrested an awaiting trial prisoner, Thembinkosi Gift Mabunda, who escaped from lawful police custody following a brief court appearance in Malamulele on the 10th January 2025.

Thembhinkosi Gift Mabunda was re-arrested this morning, the 15th January 2025 at Mudavula village, outside Malamulele following a tip-off from members of the community.

Thembinkonsi is facing multiple charges including carjacking, rape and escape from lawful police custody.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended the community for working closely with the police and providing valuable information that led to his apprehension.
