Suspect appear in court for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition

WESTERN CAPE – Members of Operation Restore deployed in the Delft policing precinct on Saturday, 04 January 2025, due to the ongoing shooting in the area were conducting stop and search operations in Wingnut Road, Thebulitsha, Delft when they stopped and searched a unknown man. They found a 9mm pistol with ammunition in his possession. The members asked him for a firearm license or permit but he could not produce any. The 44-year-old man was arrested for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

He is due to make a court appearance in the Bellville Magistrates’ court on Monday.
