NORTHERN CAPE – Vigilant Colesberg police members spotted a suspicious vehicle on the Phillipstown Plakkerskamp Road, pursued it and recovered dagga worth approximately R20 000-00 after the vehicle rolled with two male suspects. During Safer Festive Season Operations on Wednesday, 25 December 2024 at approximately 03:00 the police tried to flag down the car during a high speed chase. The two suspects allegedly lost control and the vehicle rolled several times coming to a standstill in the veld next to the road. Upon searching the vehicle, police members found the dagga inside the vehicle and arrested the two male suspects. The duo who sustained injuries, are under police guard in hospital. The duo are expected to appear in the Colesberg Magistrates Court on charges of illegal possession of dagga and Reckless and negligent driving. The District Commissioner for Pixley Ka Seme, Major General Nomana Mtukushe applauded the Colesberg SAPS for their vigilance and commitment to keeping our communities safe and secure during the Festive Season and beyond.
