LIMPOPO – The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has hailed the members of Sekhukhune and Vhembe following the arrest of suspects and the confiscation of firearms believed to have been used in the commission of crime. The arrests were carried out on Tuesday, 24 December 2024 in the two districts. In the first incident, information was received by members regarding the suspects who were allegedly involved in the house robbery and murder incident that happened at Mogorwane village on 04 December 2024. The dedicated SAPS team followed up on leads resulting in the arrest of two suspects for allegedly killing a 32-year-old Mozambican male national, Samson Sithole (32) during the house robbery and murder incident. Two firearms believed to have been used during the commission of the offence was seized. In Vhembe District, a firearm was also recovered during the high density operation and the suspect subsequently arrested in the process. Thorough investigation will be conducted to establish if these firearms were used in the commission of crimes. “The relentless pursuit of our teams is highly commendable. These arrests are a testament of our commitment to the call of duty of removing guns and bring all perpetrators to book ,” concluded Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe. The suspects are expected to appear before their respective magistrate courts soon. Ends
