Media Statement NELSPRUIT – The 2023/2024 SAPS Service Excellence was held on Friday night, 13 December 2024 at the Tshwane University of Technology under the leadership of the Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi. The event was held as a way of showing appreciation to the hard work, dedication and commitment of men and women in serving members of the public has been appreciated. The prestigious event was honoured by the MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Mr Jackie Macie, Inkosi TB Mthethwa from Madabukela Traditional Council and the Mayor of Ehlanzeni, an Acting Executive Mayor of Mbombela local Municipality, Councilor Mbowane, Deputy National Commissioner for Detectives, Lieutenant General Shadrack Sibiya, the Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the Component Head: Corporate Communication and Liaison Services, Major General Nonkululeko Phokane, Deputy Provincial Commissioners: Major General Buti Lekubu, Major General Botsotso Moukangwe and Major General Samuel Sekgobela. It was an honour to have Major General Dladla, Major General Modishane, Major General Thine, Major General Damoyi, and Major General Ngubelanga amongst the dignitaries that attended the momentous event. Provincial Heads in Mpumalanga as well as senior managers of the SAPS in the province were also in attendance. CPF members were also part of the event, as well as members of the Spiritual Crime Prevention, Youth Crime Prevention Desk members, and the Labour Unions, and representatives from men for Change and Women’s Network. The excellent work performed by both members of the SAPS as well as CPF members in Mpumalanga, were acknowledged and appreciated in various categories. The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) ZM Mkhwanazi also gave awards to specific members that displayed bravery, persistence commitment and resilience as they rendered a service to the communities, including in the incident of alleged illegal miners in Sabie.
