Media Statement POLOKWANE – Members of Limpopo Provincial Flying Squad have arrested the third business robbery suspect on Saturday, 14 December 2024, between 06:00 and 21:00. The 23-year-old male suspect will be charged with business robbery and defeating the ends of justice. He will appear before Senwabarwana Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 17 December 2024. Members of Limpopo Provincial Flying Squad were on duty when they received information on one of the outstanding suspects in a Senwabarwana business robbery case. It is alleged that on Tuesday, 10 December 2024, the three male suspects entered a spaza shop in Sebotlane village, Senwabarwana policing area, driving a silver grey polo motor vehicle, with Limpopo registration and robbed a cashier at knifepoint of an undisclosed amount of cash and a cellphone. The suspects then fled the scene in their vehicle. A business robbery case was opened at Senwabarwana police station for further investigation. The first suspect was arrested on Friday, 13 December 2024, after he went to the police station to report a stolen motor vehicle, which, according to investigation, was the vehicle used in the commission of the crime. He was arrested after he was unable to provide a clear response to the police. The second suspect was arrested on Saturday, 14 December 2024. Information revealed that the suspect boarded a taxi traveling to Gauteng province upon which SAPS members intensified a lookout through the Senwabarwana directives until the taxi of interest was located and stopped on the N1 after Kranskop toll plaza. The suspect was arrested and handed over to Senwabarwana detectives for further investigation. He will join his accomplices, and they will all appear before Senwabarwana Magistrate’s court on Tuesday 17 December 2024 on charges of business robbery and defeating the ends of justice. The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe lauded police officers for their alertness. “This incident serves as a stern warning to criminals who think that they can easily fool us with their tactics to evade justice,” stated General.
