Media Statement GAUTENG – The Gauteng Events, Safety and Security Planning Committee (ESSPC) is ready to handle all safety and security related aspects for the two-day Chris Brown concert that is taking place at the FNB Stadium from Saturday, 14 December 2024 to Sunday, 15 December 2024. The ESSPC is responsible for planning all safety and security law enforcement operations that will ensure that concert goers and music lovers enjoy themselves in a safe and secure environment. The ESSPC has been meeting regularly with all relevant stakeholders including event organisers in the build up to the concert to ensure that plans are in place to also secure the safety of communities living near the FNB stadium as well as businesses operating in this vicinity. All law enforcement agencies led by the SAPS have mobilised resources to heighten police visibility with the aim of preventing and combatting any form of opportunistic crimes before, during, and post the concert. Residents in and around the stadium are warned of possible road closures – details thereof will be communicated by the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD). Law enforcement officials will not tolerate any lawlessness and form of criminality. All law enforcement agencies securing the concert are expected to execute their duties according to their constitutional mandate and within relevant prescripts. Ends
