Media Statement CAPE TOWN – Provincial Serious Violent Crime detectives made a breakthrough in a double murder case which left two security guards with fatal gunshot wounds in NY108, Gugulethu on Tuesday, 26 November 2024. The pair was sitting in their company vehicle when they were approached by unknown gunmen with firearms who opened fire, fatally wounding them. The investigation by the detectives led them to an address in Makhaza, Khayelitsha on Tuesday, 03 December 2024 where they have arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with the murder. He appeared in the Athlone Magistrates’ Court today, where the case was remanded until 12 December 2024 for a formal bail application. Ends
