NORTHERN CAPE – The Pixley Ka Seme 7th Annual Excellence Awards was hosted by the District Commissioner, Major General Nomana Mtukushe, during a glamorous event on Friday, 22 November 2024, at the Town Hall in De Aar.
The functionary, Major General Thabo Mphuthi, the Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Corporate Services was joined by the Executive Mayor, Councillor Itumeleng, senior Municipal officials, District Commissioners, Provincial Heads, and Senior officers.
Officers and members from the district were acknowledged for service excellence in 27 various categories.
Labour Unions, POPCRU and SAPU offered messages of support and encouraged members to surpass expectations and go above and beyond the call of duty.
In her keynote address, Major General Mphuthi encouraged recipients to inspire their fellow members.
These awards serve as a platform to boost the morale and productivity of members.
To be a member of SAPS is a calling and not merely a career choice.
Major General Mphuthi motivated members to continue with their hard work and dedication.

– Sportswoman of the Year – WO N Wiid from Hopetown SAPS
– CR & CSM Employee of the Year: Level 5 – 7 – Sgt MJ Matlhare from De Aar LCRC
– CR & CSM Employee of the Year: Level 8 – 12 – Capt L Matyobeni from De Aar LCRC
– CR & CSM Team of the Year – De Aar and Victoria West
– DPCI Special Awards – Lt Col L Jali from the Pixley Ka Seme District
– Crime Intelligence Employee of the Year: Level 5 – 7 – Sgt LR Peters from Pixley Ka Seme District
District Commissioner Special Awards were personally selected by Major General Mtukushe for members who performed extraordinary service to the community.
The event was concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the Station Commander of De Aar, Colonel M Matomane.
