Media Statement UPINGTON – The ZF Mgcawu District hosted the annual excellence awards in Upington on Friday, 15 November 2024. In attendance were the Provincial Commissioner of Northern Cape, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola, the Deputy Provincial Commissioner of Corporate Services, Major General Thabo Mphuthi, the District Management, Station Commanders and Community Police Forum with its structures, the Head of Government Departments and entities. The awards ceremony was opened with a devotion by Chaplain Titus of Employee Health and Wellness, setting the tone for auspicious event. The welcoming remarks was conveyed by the Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Peet Coetzee, who also acknowledged the District Commissioner, Major General Monica Sebili in absentia. Different speakers delivered messages of support, including the Acting District Director of the Department Transport Safety and Liaison, Mr Dutch Scholtz, the Community Police Forum District Chairperson, Mr Clement Baai, the representative of Labour Unions, SAPU, Mrs Joylin Isaks and POPCRU, Mr Themba Smith. In her Keynote address, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola, expressed her heart-felt appreciation to the dedicated members, those who contribute positively to the organization and ultimately ensuring that the SAPS objectives are achieved. She continued to encourage the members to stay dedicated, uplift one another, and always prioritise safety. All the recipients in the different categories were acknowledged and awarded accordingly.
