Media Statement BLOEMSPRUIT – Two suspects, aged 31 and 26, were arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, 12 November 2024. This is after they were found with five cattle worth an estimated amount of R250 000 in Bloemspruit. SAPS Bloemfontein Stock Theft Unit operationalised information which has led to the recovery of livestock (cattle) that were reported stolen in the Tierpoort area at about 03:30 on 12 November 2024. Information led members to Bloemspruit area where at about 10:00, the five cattle were found grazing and the two unsuspecting suspects guarding them. The two foreign nationals were arrested and appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court, and will make their second appearance on 25 November 2024. They have been remanded in custody. “I believe recovery of the stock with such high value will bring back joy to the owner, allow me to commend the members involved in this recovery and the arrest.” Said the Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Baile Motswenyane.
