POLOKWANE – A prompt response by the police in Siloam has led to the arrest of three suspects aged between 35 and 43 after they allegedly hijacked an Indian man his vehicle in Thonada village, on Tuesday, 05 November 2024 at around 16:00. It is reported that the complainant was with his brothers at their shop, about to leave after closing it, when an unknown group of suspects emerged, one of them holding a firearm. They ordered the victims to board into their vehicle together with them and drove off to a bushy terrain in Tshiheni Malili Village. The Police were then notified about the incident by one of the community members. They quickly reacted, and four suspects were spotted driving in a sliver grey BMW. They noticed the police and drove at a high speed. A chase ensued, and the victim’s vehicle, a blue GWM, was found abandoned at Tshiheni Malili Village. The Police tracked down the suspects and managed to apprehend three out of four at Phiphidi, Hamuhuma village. The fourth suspect evaded an arrest. During the arrest, they confiscated two (02) pallet guns with seven (07) and an undisclosed amount of cash. The three arrested suspects will soon appear before the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court.
