PARKROAD – Parkweg Crime Prevention working together with the investigating team arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the video making rounds where a 20-year-old victim was seen fighting with people in a dark grey Mazda 3 vehicle. The two suspects aged 24 and 32 were arrested after police received an intelligence led information on their whereabouts. One was found in Bloemanda after exiting his family house carrying a bag full of clothes. Police pounced on the second suspect while sitting at Hostel 1 in Bloemfontein. Investigations continue to recover the robbed property. This is after a video was seen making rounds on social media where on 03 November 2024 at about 06:00, the 20-year-old victim was attacked and robbed by suspects in a dark grey Mazda while walking in John Knox Street, Parkwest. The suspects tripped the victim and he fell, that is where the suspects robbed him of his two cellphones after they fell out of his pocket and got into the vehicle. The 20-year-old victim held onto the driver’s door as the vehicle sped off, but lost the grip and fell off after a distance. Parkweg police were made aware of the incident and the vehicle was traced and found in Kgotsong, Bloemfontein area. Police have opened cases of attempted murder and common robbery for further investigation. The victim was taken to hospital for medical attention but is out. The two will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate court on Friday 8 November 2024. Ends
