Media Statement POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service in Malamulele under Vhembe District have launched an extensive search for a suspect after a lifeless body of a 39-year-old female teacher was found at her residence on Tuesday, 29 October 2024 at Sasekani village in Basani. The Police were alerted about a murder incident in the area and rushed to the scene of crime. On arrival, they found the family member who pointed a one roomed house that was closed. Police forcefully opened the door and found a lifeless body lying in a pool of blood. They also summoned the members of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) who declared the 39-year-old victim dead at the scene. Further investigations revealed that the woman stayed with a male person whose whereabouts is currently unknown. The deceased who is said to be an Educator at a local primary school and the said male, were reportedly staying together at her residence. The cause of the tragic incident that resulted to the senseless killing remains unknown at this stage; however domestic related dispute cannot be ruled out. A massive manhunt for the known male suspect has been intensified.
