Media Statement KIMBERLEY – Members of the Kuruman K9 and Flying Squad Units arrested a 41-year-old foreign national in Kuruman for possession of drugs on Monday, 28 October 2024. The members, during the execution of crime prevention patrols spotted a suspicious white Toyota Etios that was stopped and escorted to the police station for searching. The members found mandrax tablets and tik valued at more than R20 000-00 and confiscated the vehicle believed to be used in the commission of this crime. The suspect was arrested and charged for possession of drugs and will appear in the Kuruman Magistrates Court soon. The John Taolo Gaetsewe District Commissioner, Major General Jonny Besnaar, commended Warrant Officers Calvin Harmse and Jan Burger for their vigilance and ensuring that our streets are free from drugs. The proliferation of drugs remains the priority of the SAPS.
