Media Statement POLOKWANE – A 21 year-old old male suspect, accused of killing a 16-year-old girl from Mohodi, Madikana at Mogwadi area under Capricorn District on Saturday 19 October 2024 at 13:00 has been arrested. The suspect handed himself over to the police on Friday, 25 October 2024 at about 09:00, accompanied his family. The deceased body of a Grade 10 learner from Bataung Secondary school was found in the bushes. The police were notified and rushed to the scene and on arrival, they found the deceased wearing a school uniform and had no visible injuries. Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was last seen with the 21-year-old male suspect who is a resident at Koning Krans village. The motive of the incident is unknown at this stage and police investigations are ongoing. The suspect is expected to appear before the Senwabarwana Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 28 October 2024 facing a charge of murder. Police investigations are continuing. Ends
