Media Statement POLOKWANE – An intelligence-driven operation on 24 October 2024, resulted in the arrest of two suspects wanted for multiple serious crimes, including rape, house robbery, and burglary in the Sebayeng policing area outside Mankweng. The first suspect, a 27-year-old male, is linked to three counts of rape, as well as cases of house robbery, business robbery, and intimidation. He was apprehended at Ga-Skororo village, where police confiscated an illegal firearm believed to have been used in these crimes, along with stolen items, including a plasma TV and cellphones. Additional charges are expected as the investigation progresses. The second suspect, aged 36, was wanted for a rape incident that occurred in August and was also arrested in the Sebayeng area during the operation. The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe praised the investigative team for their effective coordination and successful operation. Both suspects are scheduled to appear in the respective Magistrate’s Courts soon. Ends
