Media Statement POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo showcased their athletic talent at the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon, with several members achieving top placements among the 620 participants in the 42.2 km race held on Sunday, 20 October 2024. Top Performers: 42KM Women: Constable Nsuku Mathonsi from Burgersfort POPS took 1st place. 10KM Women: Constable Denga Mashavha from Beitbridge secured 2nd place, and Itumeleng Legodi from Thohoyandou POPS came in 3rd. 10KM Men: Constable Thinawanga Mushaku from Burgersfort POPS finished 2nd. 42KM Men: Groundsman Ronny Mabotja from Lebowakgomo State Garage achieved 8th place. The Provincial Head of Technology Management Services (TMS), Brigadier Gift Lesiba Kekana, also participated, leading from the front, thus exemplifying the spirit of perseverance and tenacity. The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, expressed her pride in the team’s overall accomplishments, emphasizing the importance of fitness and wellness in their respective roles. “This impressive performance highlights the dedication and resilience of our members, both in their respective duties and personal pursuits,” she stated.
